Last year I was approached by somebody who had to sell their cherished cottage, and wanted to give their family memento, so brought some branches from the property and asked me to make seven sets of mills.
I was able to make an extra one, and was 100% sure the one on the left in the picture would have been definitely taken, but as I've learned a long time ago, sometimes something you think is spectacular just doesn't fit your customer's vision.
The sapwood on the pine Mill opened up to reveal the heart wood, and during the heating process, the sap would oozed out in a really interesting way. I've sealed the so none of the sap would will stick to your hands during use. This one is spectacular.
I've paired it with a burch that has the same sensual curves.
My Cottage Mills® are made from branches that have naturally fallen, mostly due to wind storms. As they lay on the ground, sometimes for years, the weather, sunlight, and moisture work their magic. The end result is a beautiful natural looking mill.
All have an adjustable ceramic Crushgrind® mechanism, with a 25 year guarantee.
