When I first started selling my Cottage Mills, I sourced the absolute best peppercorns to sell alongside my mills. Eventually, for political and economic reasons, the harvesting and selling of these extremely rare and highly sought after peppercorns ceased. I thought I had sold out, but I've recently discovered seven packages of airtight sealed, original white peppercorns. These are most likely the only packages available on planet Earth, forever.

Here's the story...

Far out in the western Pacific lies the island of Pohnpei, part of the Federated States of Micronesia — a lush, volcanic paradise where warm equatorial rains and rich, fertile soils create the perfect conditions for one of the world’s rarest spices.

Here, on small family farms shaded by coconut palms and breadfruit trees, grows a pepper unlike any other. Known simply as Pohnpei Pepper (sometimes called Ponape Pepper), these peppercorns carry a reputation that has reached the highest levels of the culinary world. Chefs and spice merchants alike praise their intense aroma, complex layers of flavor, and lingering, almost fruity warmth that elevates any dish they touch.

In the early 2000s, Pohnpei Pepper was celebrated as the “gold standard” of peppercorns, only to vanish when exports ceased and its growers shifted away from commercial trade. For over a decade, it was thought to be lost to the global market — spoken of in reverent tones, but almost impossible to obtain.

This limited reserve of original Pohnpei Peppercorns offers you the chance to taste that legend. Sprinkle freshly cracked pepper over steak, seafood, or grilled vegetables and you’ll understand why these peppercorns were once called the finest in the world.
